Hello to you! I know we used to have a post around here that I believe Val had posted that had all kinds of tips and hints about using the message boards but for the life of me I cannot find it right now. I'll keep looking though!

In the meantime though we have two very talented writers in our midst and they both wrote excellent articles that will come in handy when you're new to message boards. No one likes a spammer and communities such as this one is pretty tight nit. We do business with each other and as a newbie, we'll gladly bring you in as a member of our family. However, post an introduction, don't spam us and try to jump on in to let us know you're for real. Your actions WILL pay off in a community such as this one.

Two articles that will come in handy not only here but any other board you join are:

Work At Home Forums - Why Spamming Doesn't Work
Author: Shelly Hill

Work At Home Forums: Networker or Spammer?
Author: Tammy Embrich

Thanks ladies for such great articles.

Anyone else that would like to add tips on how to use a message board properly, please feel free to do so.

(Tips also such as how to make posts are welcome too. I'll be adding more as I have time.)

How to Add a Signature Line

We have had to take many precautions against spammers around here. One of our biggest precaution in place is our signature line policy.

You will not have access to adding a signature line until you've made at least 2 posts. That means you should be making an introduction and at least one other legitimate post.

Once these two posts have been made you can scroll up to the top of the screen, click on Profile and add your signature line in there.

Take care,
Anita Very Happy

I always recommend that you post an introduction and then post in some general or business topics BEFORE placing any type of advertisement on the forum.

*ALWAYS* Read the forums advertising policy first.

Next...watch what you post aka dirty family laundry. I often see newbies post all kinds of dirty laundry about themself and/or their family. Please remember, all kinds of folks read the message boards and your posts usually can be found on a major search engine within hours of you posting the laundry.

In other words...if you don't want friends and family members to know your business, you shouldn't post it!

When discussing various topics...remember to be respectful. It's okay to post your disagreement and your opinion as long as you do it in a respectful way.
